This new approach was designed to enrich participants to become superstars of their organisations.

Project Delivery

Initially provided a series of consulting sessions, pulling from our niche experience, industry understanding, and problem solving abilities to help CAANZ to restructure and rebrand their offering for employers. With a thorough understanding of a strategic programmatic design process, CAANZ were able to then quickly take the next step, following our recommendations to undertake research, collecting data in order to discover stakeholder needs and priorities for engagement and development. Collectively, we reviewed the findings from the research and explored how we could assist in meeting the identified employer needs. The result was the conceptualisation of a new Career Connect event series and subsequent design, development and delivery of the inaugural event.

Outcomes:

- Consider application of strategies for acquisition, onboarding, and retention of graduate recruits
- Perform positive psychology activities to explore the immediate impact on wellbeing
- Design a simple action plan to implement for self and graduate recruits
- Partner with Millennials in a thought-provoking and creative wellbeing process
- Inspire graduate recruits to maximise their personal and professional wellbeing

Client:

UNSW Business School

Objectives:

The ‘Leaning Into Change’ Program was designed to:
- Provide a deep and rich outplacement/inplacement experience
- Support participants to utilise both their positive and negative emotions to generate momentum
- Understand career transition and decision making processes
- Acquire an understanding of the four factors needed for purposeful change
- Develop skills, knowledge and attitudes to successfully launch and land in today’s job market

Who was involved?

The merging of marketing and recruitment services from Faculties to a Central business unit resulted in redundancies and career change challenges. We worked with 30x professional staff members of the UNSW Business School Student Experience Unit.

Project Delivery

An initial workshop was organised with impacted staff to equip them with a road map for career transition success. At the conclusion of the workshop, feedback indicated that people understood the most appropriate first steps for them to take, whereas previously, they were clouded by overwhelm and confusion regarding the various transition tasks ahead of them.

Following the workshop, we organised an initial one-on-one consultation session with each individual to determine their unique needs. A tailored plan for each team member was then created and implemented including coaching sessions covering career change, decision making, job-search strategies, interviewing and negotiation. Team members’ plans also included a professionally written resume and LinkedIn profile.

Outcomes:

- Offer candidates a deeper richer experience, empowering individual employees with the most current tools needed to successfully launch and land in today’s job market.
- Provide organisations with a greater return on their investment via shorter transition times for their impacted employees and more affordable delivery options.

“I approached My Career Rhythms to help my team members to understand and appreciate each other, and to find new ways of collaborating and complementing each other. My Career Rhythms really ‘got us’. There was no judgement and the Facilitator, Anna, was open, understanding, and extremely likeable. She showed a genuine interest in what we do and how to help.

I was very fortunate to go to My Career Rhythms for career advise at a critical time in my professional life. Their approach is extremely caring, and have the gift of really listening to you, knowing how to gently coach you in the direction of self-discovery and insight. My coach was really generous with her time, and also recommends further information avenues to explore after each session with her. It left me feeling very equipped to make the decisions in my life that I needed to make, and I feel much more at ease with my choices now.

I’m still feeling great about our discussions and my decision; to the point in fact where I've pulled together a PowerPoint presentation mapping out my plan, it's great! I have a huge sense of relief which has actually left a bit of a hole in my time given the amount of research I was doing, so instead I'm reading a lot of relevant books, industry magazines, and this weekend I've totally spring cleaned the study to make room for my new focus. Thanks for your great guidance, I am eternally grateful!

I wanted to let you know that I have just started a new job at a local university and I am loving it! One of the things my coach suggested I explore was tertiary education and that really stuck with me, so thank you! I am really grateful for the help. I was a complete mess when I came to My Career Rhythms but it has all come good now. I will certainly recommend you if any of my friends are thinking about career guidance.
Anna

I thoroughly enjoyed my coaching sessions and found them really helpful and informative. I found My Career Rhythms coach to be warm and friendly yet direct and professional. There is nothing wrong with seeking help - as you delicately made me aware of! I have been feeling more confident and I am excited for my new career direction I have chosen to take. I have no hesitations to recommend your services! Thank you so much again.

I feel like a different person today. I feel as if I have finally been given permission to go out and be who I am. It is as if a whole big part of me has been unlocked and I am ready to develop it. I can't tell you how grateful I am to you for the guidance and suggestions I received from my coach. I am so excited. I have been struggling without a vision and now my vision is back, along with renewed hope, a spring in my step and a more positive attitude. Thanks again, so very much.
